Charlotte and Raleigh gear up for Amazon bid

Seattle-based Amazon.com is about to be inundated with proposals from dozens of cities vying to be home to the tech giant’s second headquarters, a $5 billion project with a potential 50,000 employees. Charlotte and Raleigh/Durham are the two biggest N.C. metros vying for the project, and The Charlotte Observer takes a look at the effect each city’s strengths and weaknesses will have on the possibility of landing the deal. The deadline for proposals is Oct. 19.
