Charlotte moves forward on $31M River District infrastructure plan

The Charlotte City Council’s economic development committee has voted to move forward with a plan to use $31.2 million in public funds for infrastructure improvements surrounding the planned River District mixed-use project in west Charlotte. Developers Lincoln Harris and Crescent Communities have committed an additional $30 million for the first phase of road projects. City Council will likely vote on the proposal at its Sept. 25 meeting.
