Clemson University to relocate proposed Duke Energy plant

Clemson University will find a new location for a proposed Duke Energy Corp. combined heat-and-power plant after trustees recommended that it be moved from a controversial site just 100 feet from some residential areas. Duke had planned to start construction on the 16-megawatt, $50.8 million plant this fall, but local residents pushed back against the project. It is not clear how long finding a new site will take.
