Commissioners delay vote on High Point baseball stadium

Guilford County Commissioners on Thursday voted to delay a decision on helping High Point pay for a $30 million baseball stadium, citing a need for more information on taxpayer risk and a lack of communication from High Point leaders. High Point wants to create a 649-acre economic development zone in a blighted part of downtown, and plans for the public-private project include the stadium, a hotel, some 200 apartments, a children’s museum, a park and an events center.
