Daughtry, Tata among bidders for UNC System board seats

Fourteen people were nominated to serve on the UNC System Board of Governors, one of the state’s most powerful boards. Nominees include former Republican lawmakers Rob Bryan of Charlotte and Leo Daughtry of Smithfield and former McCrory Administration official Tony Tata. The 32-member board is being trimmed to 28 over the next two years in a change signed into law earlier this month. Each North Carolina lawmaker was eligible to nominate two people to the board.
