DOJ weighs in against Wells Fargo in whistle-blower suit

The U.S Justice Department has weighed in on a long-running whistleblower lawsuit against Wells Fargo & Co. In their suit, former employees Paul Bishop and Robert Kraus allege that Wells Fargo and predecessor Wachovia made false claims in order to receive payments from federal agencies under various bailout programs during the financial crisis. The Justice Department concluded in its filing that an appellate court, which had earlier dismissed the case, should reconsider its decision.
