Downtown Winston-Salem sees $1.5B in investment

Winston-Salem has benefitted from major investments in its downtown, funds that have gone into the development of new restaurants, apartments and research and medical facilities. According to a recent study based on city and county building permits, downtown investments totaled $1.5 billion between 2000 and 2016. Nearly $300 million of that came in just the last two years.
