HB2 to cost North Carolina $3.8B in lost business

Despite Republican assurances that opposition to House Bill 2 isn’t hurting North Carolina’s economy, the so-called “bathroom bill” will cost the state more than $3.76 billion in lost business over a dozen years, according to an Associated Press analysis. The study on the potential economic effects of the bill represents the largest reckoning yet of how much the law, passed a year ago, could cost the state.
