Massive downtown Raleigh fire destroys apartment building

A massive fire in downtown Raleigh was extinguished early Friday morning, but the flames destroyed an apartment building that was under construction and damaged several other structures in the area. The six-story unfinished building at West Jones and North Harrington streets, dubbed the Metropolitan, ignited around 10 p.m. One person was injured from falling glass, according to fire officials.
