Nucor to invest $85M in Ohio plant upgrade

Charlotte steel manufacturer Nucor Corp. will spend $85 million to upgrade its rebar mill in Marion, Ohio, in a two-year project that could add 15 jobs at the site. The mill has operated for 100 years and is one of the oldest in Nucor’s fleet. In other developments, Nucor CEO John Ferriola’s compensation package for 2016 totaled $10.6 million, the largest package ever scored by a Nucor chief executive. The total is 18.9% more than Ferriola was awarded in 2015.
