Raleigh MLS bidders propose $150M stadium

The N.C. Football Club has launched a proposal to build a $150 million stadium and entertainment complex on 13 acres of state-owned land in downtown Raleigh, a step that team owner Steve Malik says is important in pursuing a Major League Soccer franchise.  Under the plan, a 22,000-seat stadium would anchor a complex featuring a conference center, office and retail space, residential units and hotel rooms. Raleigh is competing against 11 other cities, including Charlotte, for an MLS expansion team.
