UNC tuition continues to climb, but more slowly

The UNC system’s Board of Governors is expected today to approve one of the smallest increases in in-state tuition and fees in the past decade. The proposed increases for the 2017-18 school year, which includes hikes of as much as 2.3% for new in-state freshmen and transfer students, passed a board committee Thursday afternoon. Because of a tuition-lock plan approved last year by the legislature, all other in-state undergraduates will see a zero percent tuition increase.
