Wells Fargo aggressive sales tactics hit small firms

Wells Fargo & Co. has fired dozens of employees over the last two years after an internal investigation found some of the bank’s merchant-services staff pressured small businesses into contracts they didn’t understand and routinely engaged in reporting false sales information. The Wall Street Journal reports that the besieged bank discovered the problems in its merchant-services business prior to the larger fake accounts scandal that broke last fall.
