UNC Board of Governors reviewing tie up with Carolinas Medical Center

The UNC Board of Governors has formed a special committee to review plans for Carolinas Medical System and UNC Health Care to form a joint operating company overseen by its own board. The proposed nonprofit would run more than 50 hospitals. The Board of Governors Committee will meet Wednesday to begin its review.
