Nucor reports strong 1Q earnings

Nucor Corp. reports first-quarter earnings of $356.7 million, or $1.11 per diluted share, up from $87.6 million, or 27 cents per share, a year ago. Sales rose 22% to $4.82 billion. The Charlotte-based steel manufacturer narrowly missed the average earnings expectations from analysts of $1.12 per share.
