Siemens cutbacks could be felt in Charlotte

Siemens AG has announced it will lay off 6,900 workers worldwide, including 1,800 in the United States. The cuts will take place over the course of several years. The company said it was too early to say whether any of the 1,600 workers at its Siemens Charlotte Energy Hub.

Level Brands Inc., a Charlotte brand licensing and marketing firm with 10 employees, plans to raise $12 million in a Nov. 17 initial public offering. Many of the company’s current services are centered around former model Kathy Ireland. Ireland and executives in her companies are Level Brands’ largest investors.
